Excessive Airport Scanning after 10.5.2

I am having the same issue with a G4 iMac and Airport Express, to the point that the iMac won't connect with my Apple TV. I don't notice issues as much with a new MacBook, but still see it from time to time. Time for a fix Apple.

I've got a Netgear DG834N Router and an iMac. Since 10.5.2 was release, Airports scanning most of the time, and the signal drops out and in and out an in a lot. Although, when it drops out, its completely grey, the internet still works as normal.

Just got new Macbook and my Airport is doing the same thing on and off....starts scanning even when I have a full connection to my network and while it scans I loose internet connection....???Help

I'm having the same problem. I get a pretty constant "scanning" message and the signal drops in and out. I've tried changing the channel, increasing the multicast and it still keeps searching. I'm on an older white saucer extreme.

Arrgh! I thought it was Comcast, but now I see this on my iMac Duo, iMac G5 and MacBook. Help Apple!!!

SAME FOR ME!!! Don't know if it has something to do with 10.5.2 but suddenly it is scanning all the time. ...active/scanning/active/scanning... loses connection all the time! Recognized it via Airtunes, because it suddenly drops out after around 20 seconds constantly. Already did every possible reset of my airport express. Actually I think the problem is macbook's airport card, because the green light of Express is alway on. Please help!!! This is really annoying...!

Yes its seems to be that way... I wonder if this is causing excessive battery drain?

Anyone have a fix for this? It's killing me!! My airport is CONSTANTLY scanning and the wireless is dropping out.

This is true for me also. I cannot speak whether it was the update to 10.5.2, but my MacBook Pro is constantly scanning and occasionally dropping WiFi.

This occurs regardless of the multi-cast rate which I set on my Airport Extreme base station. I also enabled Interference Robustness on the base station, but this changes nothing.

I hope an Apple Tech comments soon.

Same here, always scanning and no network for about 10 seconds, than ok for some minutes and again scanning, no network ...
Any way to switch the scanning of ?
No need to scan for new networks, i connect only to one all the time.

Same here, MacBook 2007 with 10.5.2 and a Zyxtel router, but it also happens with Linksys 😟. What's going on??
