Question

ASUS Xonar D2X and a Mac Pro 2008

I know that ASUS is not making drivers for OSX but since it's to be used in Windows, I'm more bothered by the hardware part. This sound card require a secondary power source and it use the old floppy type connector. So, the big question : Can I put this in my mac or is there no way to connect the power source?

I would love to know the answer to this question to. I need Dolby Live for my bootcamp gaming!! Hopefully if it can be installed it won't affect the Mac side on reboot.

But the problem is, where to find the power for the sound card! I was planning to use the second power cord for the super drives with an adapter but, will it work?

If it only needs 12V, you could use one of the auxiliary power connectors in the PCI bay. See Figure 1
