Can't sync with Outlook 2007

When I try to sync the contacts of my outlook 2007 with my IPOD I get the error message: "Microsoft Outlook is not running, so contact groups could not be retrived".

I tried to close or open Outlook but it does not may any difference. Any idea why I could get this message?
