Hi All,

I come baring what is hopefully a gift which is in demand. At least I know I wanted and couldn't find it.

I am putting together a site called www.appletvjunkie.com. This site will provide thee most current list of HD movies available on Apple TV along with, and this is the most important point as far as i'm concerned, what NEW HD movies have been added on a daily basis. I've looked far and wide and I have yet to find any sort of comprehensive list, so I am taking it upon myself to create it for our Apple TV community.

How many of us have been at work, thinking about a movie to watch for the coming night or weekend, but had no way of either remembering or knowing exactly what HD movies were provided on Apple TV. Well you will now. Remember, this is HD movies only. For a list of current SD movies you can log into the iTunes Store at any time.

I'll do my best to provide any current Apple TV news and I encourage any feedback the community may have.

I know this is a over used term, but, the site is in a kind of Beta mode right now. I am currently using iWeb to produce this site, but, it does have it's limitations. I do hope to move off of it in the near future in favor of something a little more flexible.

So please check out www.appletvjunkie.com when you have a chance. I hope you find it useful.

Just added it to my favorites.

Hey, THANKS!! This will be useful. I've been wondering if anything new has been added since the initial offering. I will be checking in often. But why just the HD? Too big of a project for keeping track of all movie rentals available?

Has anyone seen a "coming soon" section for Movies in iTunes?

    Hi Rick-o

Not that I haven't completely ruled out SD movies, but, the initial idea is that all SD movies are already currently available through the iTunes Store and HD movies are not.

I believe at one time there was a coming soon link or section at the bottom left of the movies page, but it seemed to have gone missing a few months ago.

Bookmarked. Thanks, and hope you can keep up as things start rolling...

p.s. Now just come up with a way for us to start renting (and downloading) a movie while we're still at work - so it will be ready in all it's HD goodness to watch when we get home.

Yeah, you and me both. You think Apple would share their list of coming soon and release dates?

    Hi ozodesign,

Great site! May I make a suggestion? It would be nice to also have a list that shows what movies are available in HD and Dolby Digital since it looks like a number of the HD flicks do not include the Dolby Digital soundtrack.

    Thanks!

    wd5,

Excellent suggestion. Be on the lookout for that update sometime today. Thanks!

    Hi All,
Due to some great initial feedback we have updated the movie listing page of appletvjunkie.com. For all applicable movies we have added closed caption info, Dolby digital surround sound info and movie ratings for all.

Thanks again for all the feedback, keep it coming!

A bit slow to grasp this at first, I forgot you need the tv to see HD movies, then I realised this is aimed at those times you're away from the tv and now I see the point, good idea, well thought out.

Then I got to thinking it wouldn't take too much work to make an alternative site for iphones/mobile phones and a bit of code in your home page would detect whether the surfer was using a mobile or not.

It would be nice to use your phone on the train home from work to plan your evenings entertainment, don't want to give you too much to do though.

    Hi All,

I thought I would ask for a little help. I was attempting to post a message over at the macnn forums about the list and I was banned for apparently being spammer:confused:. I guess it doesn't take much. But if anyone feels up to passing the word about the list to our brothers and sisters over at the macnn forums it would be much appreciated. But please don't do anything that might get you banned for life!

QUESTION: have you noticed (and deleted from your website) any movies that have been TAKEN AWAY from AppleTV HD collection?

Someone thought they had in HD collection and then removed "Good Luck Chuck"... I went to your site and saw it wasn't there, but then wondered if you were removing items as well from your list.

If you do, please try and note when items are removed to help those of us with poor memories. MY personal hope is that AppleTV will NEVER remove content, only add more.
