Best Equalizer Settings for Macbook

I have a MacBook and use iTunes regularly. As you are probably aware, the speakers on MacBooks are not the highest quality. There is a small speakers preset but that tends to distort at the low end (ie Bass.) Are there any music minded people out there that have any suggestions? maybe approx values for the eq sliders? I listen to mostly classic rock and also blue grass.

hi,

sound settings are so personnal that I doubt you will receive an answer here that will gives you satisfaction.

personally, I prefer not playing with the equalizer and live well with having it flat. but my expectation aren't very on the computer's speaker and I usually will use external speakers to improve the quality of the playback. "small speaker" setting will try to boost the low end to compensate the limitation of the speakers. In my point of view, there is not much more to do.

I don't use it personnally, but I know some peoples really like sound enhancement given by third-party software like iWow ( http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/ipod_itunes/iwow.html).
