Apple doesn't announce things like that ahead of time.

I also dream of a terabyte iPod as my collection (music, vid and podcasts) recently cleared 500 gigs. I long ago started using the Sync Selected Playlists option. Gives me the benefits of syncing (all automatic, play counts, ratings and last played sync) with the control of manually managing music.

The thingy you referenced sounds interesting but pricey. I'll have to keep an eye on it. You might want to note that it's been available since September and only has two reviews, neither stellar.

Here's a 6TB iPod. It has 8-750GB drives in the pack along with the battery which can be recharged simply by walking. Small generators are powered by tiny pistons in the bottom of your shoes.
Notice the cooling fan on the side of the pack.
In the winter, the fan is closed off and liquid cooling lines are fed thru the pack into special bladders in the sleeves of a coat to keep the user warm.
