Where did my navigation bar go???

I am using Dreamweaver Version 9.0 for Mac and the Total Training tutorial. In the tutorial the woman is also using a Mac and is able to use the bluish scroll bar to navigate. This does not show up on mine and as a consequence makes navigation clunky and difficult. See the screen shot to see what I am talking about...

Any ideas of how I can get this. I have already tried restarting my machine. I am using OS X 10.5.1. Thanks!!!

Don't enter periods at the end of a URL when posting on this board, it will make the link go bad.

I found the image you referred to. The reason the scroll bar is missing, is that you need to click on a folder to show additional content on the right. It will remain invisible until there is more than one folder visible, and in fact, unless you navigate to 3 or more folders in depth, there won't be a scrollbar, since 2 folders can easily fit in that window without navigation.

Thanks for this. To clarify, lets say I want to insert an image. I hit insert image and then the window that comes up is the last location that I navigated to using the program. In the past using other MAC applications I have been able to use the scroll bar to navigate up and out of the last location by scrolling to the left with the scroll bar. Now I can not. No scroll bar appears! Very frustrating.

I understand what you mean completely, but it's not just Dreamweaver in which this problem occurs, the same is true of at least Photoshop CS2 as well.

The problem is that whenever you want to open or save a file it takes you to the last file you saved or opened and there is no scroll bar at the bottom of the file window. Yes, you can click on the HDD in the left hand pane, but then you have to navigate yourself all the way back to the required directory, even if that directory was only one level back from your original starting point.

It is a complete pain to do, when the scroll bar in previous versions of OSX made everything so easy.

I would be interested to know if this is a bug, or whether Apple consider it an "upgrade"?
