How do you know they don't believe it's their problem?

    One, I am a cynical S.O.!.

Two, by all the different posts and replies to the same issue on this forum, it looks like a major problem introduced with 2.0 that should be on their top 10 bug list but it still wasn't fixed with 2.01 or 2.02.

Three, I have seen the diehard Apple defenders blame it on the HDMI specification and / or the device the ATV is attached to via HDMI.

Ok, the only one of your 3 points that really concerns me is #2. I'm hoping that everyone who has experienced this problem has at least told Apple about it here:

    http://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html

I'm going to go there myself right now.

I prefer to just sit here, stare at my Apple Logo and whine...

Hey - it could be worse - you could be staring at a giant "Start" menu!

    I hear ya...

Don't tell anyone but I really enjoy all my Apple products. I even really the dig the ATV when the darn thing isn't locked up.

I keep saying I am going to do some rewiring and use the component video to bypass this problem but I have been hoping for an Apple fix soon. Plus I am lazy.

Any rumors of an ATV update anytime soon?

Oh man I love my Apple TV when it's not rebooting. I just wish their movie selection was better. Having access to my iTunes library and photos though still makes it worth the price, IMHO. You should have seen my wife and I sitting there mesmerized at the screen saver going through the last year's worth of photos. So cool.

No idea about an update, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Same here, but I get the logo when switching to the device.. I sometimes get a HDCP (High Definition Copyright Protection) screen, thinking that there are bugs in their HDMI software... this is bugging me...

That's exactly when I get it as well. I've never seen it hang while using it.

I have never had it hang while actually VIEWING the ATV. But many times we like to have our music playing from the ATV while viewing news or a program such as Sunrise Earth. Also, we have our ATV providing music for the whole house so many times we will have the music playing on the ATV with the TV off.

In 2.0 it seemed to only lockup (or hang, freeze, suspend, etc...) when changing video on the TV FROM the ATV to another source. With 2.02 (never experienced 2.01) it will lockup when changing video FROM and TO the ATV as well as when turning the TV on with the video input set for the ATV.

Never experienced this problem with 1.0 or 1.1.

Yup I never had this many problems or bug before Take 2.

Glad I found this. I too have an Onkyo receiver and ATV on HDMI connection. Yes I get that Apple LOGO stuck after waking up ATV from sleep. Usually happens if its sleeping for more than 24 hours. Or if I don't wake it when using the receiver. I have to to soft restart the ATV with the remote.

Forgot to mention. Yes ATV worked fine before take 2 on the Onkyo receiver.
