No incoming phone calls while safari is loading page on the iphone

I can not received phone calls while browsing the net. i had a couple of people call me while I was browsing the net, usually while the webpage is loading and incoming calls do not ring or are not in the missed calls log. i had to set up my voicemail telling callers, "Do not hang up, do not hang up. Please leave a message, I can not receive your call right now because I might be browsing the internet on my phone and can not see incoming calls."

Is this standard on the iphone?

It's standard on any GSM/EDGE network. You cannot both be on a call and using EDGE at the same time as they share the same channel. f you have a WiFi connection you can do both, however.

The lockout is only during the actual transmission time; if you are just viewing a web page and Safari isn't being updated you can receive calls. Same for email.

thanks lawrence, yes i have noticed that it only happens while a page is loading in the browser. its kind of annoying but it is what it is. all my friends think my voice mail message is hilarious. just hoping one of the 3rd party apps can fix this problem and interrupt safari and pass the call through. i cant wait for the sdk, i would love to see how creative these 3rd party apps will be even though they probably won't be able to fix this problem.
