Q: Yahoo! Push email has stopped working

Anyone else having this issue? Push email is totally dead on my 1.1.3 iPhone. I've tried deleting the account and rebuilding it, as well as totally restoring the phone. No luck either way. Any thoughts?

I continue to have the problem as stated by rcbracer. I receive the mail but the the e-mail widget on my iPhone does not update. I suppose another call to Apple support is the next step. I have tried the various resets and restores to no avail....

Looks like I wasn't the only person having this problem. Glad I saw this thread because I still wasn't getting email pushed until I recently just turned the phone off and restarted it and now everything seems to be working fine.

Believe this might be as design.

If you have a blackberry, emails get pushed to you immediatly, but changes such as marking as read, responding or deleting dont reflect immediatly on the device if done on the web or vice versa.

This might of been what caused unreliable results with the yahoo push previously. I have noticed it is more reliable now, not having to go wake it up by manual refreshing of my mailbox. Yahoo was probably being overloaded by changes being pushed to devices all of the time.

sorry for the double post but no one really answered if they're iPhone does the same thing.

When you read, delete, move your email from Yahoo, does it update on your iPhone?

I swear mine used to update the iPhone almost immediately whenever a change was made on Yahoo but ever since Push email was broken and fixed, it doesn't update my iPhone any more. I have to manually update my mailbox on the iPhone to get the update. Thanks

Yes! Mine is doing the same thing. Push works perfectly for incoming, but doesn't update any changes I make in my webmail till I manually update it on my phone, or I get a new message. It's SO annoying. It used to update very quickly. I contacted an Apple rep, and here is what he said:

"Our engineers here at Apple had to push for the fix with the Yahoo engineers and thats why its back up to somewhat working again. Unfortunately here at Apple, the highest level of support beyond me has done all they can do with this. Like I said some customers accounts started working again and others like yourself are still having tons of problems. My suggestion to you would be to call Yahoo's mail support to see if they can maybe re-provision your email account at this point. Some customers in the past have had success with this group, and others were just forced to get new email accounts with yahoo."

We know how bad Yahoo's support is -- but I would love to find a solution to this issue. Is anyone else having this issue? It can't just be two of us.

I am also having this problem. I have a running e-mail dialog going with Yahoo and they have elevated my request up to an Engineering level now. Yahoo has reworked my e-mail account and tried other solutions as well. I have reset, restored, reworked and anything else in regards to trying to find a fix. I have submitted a request through Apple too.

I suspect this problem exists on more phones; the idea being some people do not know the feature even exists or do not need it.
