Q: Yahoo! Push email has stopped working

Anyone else having this issue? Push email is totally dead on my 1.1.3 iPhone. I've tried deleting the account and rebuilding it, as well as totally restoring the phone. No luck either way. Any thoughts?

Yup. Me too. Noticed it stopped working a couple of days ago. Hope they get whatever it is resolved soon.

For all interested parties. I called Apple support and the support individual told me they were not aware of this issue. So now they are! I gave him my spill and he went to work. They checked to see if any of the Yahoo’s servers were down and everything was working fine. He told me to do everything I already did. So he suggested I wait a couple of days. He said it is very possible Yahoo is doing maintenance on some of their mail servers (because one of my Yahoo accounts is pushing and the other is not). He suggested I delete my mail account, power down, and then reinstall in a couple of days. If this does not solve the issue, he told me to call back and Apple would escalate this issue with Yahoo. Hope this helps.

If it is not working by Monday (2/25) I'll call Apple back and see if they can get it fixed. Apple support was very helpful. I've read other posting where Yahoo support was not so I did not even try to contact them.

This the response I got from Yahoo! support - as you can see they are not even acknowledging the problem.

"Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Mobile Tech support.
I understand that the push feature in your iPhone is not working.
My deepest apologies for the inconvenience this may have brought you.
If you are looking for assistance regarding your Yahoo! features in the
Apple iPhone, please contact Apple Care at:

    - URL: www.apple.com/support/iphone or

    - Phone: 1-800-MY-IPHONE or

    - go to www.apple.com/iphone for more information.

In case you continue to experience this event after contacting Apple
care, please feel free to contact us back. We will be happy to assist
you again, your satisfaction is our priority.

    Regards,

    William

    camkjm,
Don't bother contacting Yahoo again if the issue is not fixed (I don't think their customer service is all that great). Like I said before, Apple was very helpful and if the problem is not fixed by this Monday I'll call Apple back and they said they would escalate the issue with Yahoo. Apple Support was very helpful and I don't think they will let this issue continue. I'll contact them Monday if the issue is not fixed.

    allanbcbs,
Thanks! I agree their customer service is less than helpful. I will wait and see what happens.

I, too, didn't get my Yahoo email the past couple of days. I just tried hitting the refresh (curved) arrow on the iPhone screen and it downloaded my emails that were showing on my desktop. I'm hoping that Apple fixed this problem soon. In the meantime, I guess I'll have to 'refresh' from time to time when I'm on the road.

Add me to the list.... My yahoo stopped pushing my mail around the 14th or 15th. It had been working flawlessly until then. I tried resettings the iphone, deleting and re-creating my yahoo account on my phone, Restore the iphone to factory settings and still nothing.

What is odd is that I added my wife's yahoo account and it pushed 1 email as it should but then mail after that didn't get pushed. Sure wish Apple and/or yahoo or better yet gmail would steal a page out of the RIM/BB Playbook and develop some real push technology here.

I do not have Yahoo e-mail, but because I know the above answer instructing phone calls to AppleCare won't solve this, I have -- on your behalf -- contacted someone at Yahoo and will see what I can find out for you all.

Same problem here - I've tried the online "help" desk at Yahoo and been directed to sending an email to the Mobile email support desk - wait and see what they have to say but not holding my breath

I'm having the same problem! I've wanted to switch to gmail so I did last night. Gmail will not "push" as you say, either. I did a test on the gmail account last night. Got that email and this morning I had five emails that I didn't know about until I logged onto my computer. Anyone having this same issue with gmail? Suggestions?
