remapping record identifiers error

I crashed 10.5.2, had to reinstall 10.5.1 then combo update and since then when I sync my iPhone I get this error in iTunes:

"iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iPhone "Mark Richardson's iPhone" because an error occurred remapping record identifiers."

I deleted the email account from iPhone, re-entered the email account again and got same error on syncing. BUT I sent a test email to this account and got an email. So the account works but its not recognized in iTunes sync.

Any suggestions?

G5 PowerPC 1.8 DP, Mac OS X (10.5.2), 2GB DDR SDRAM

This was addressed in a previous post:

On the next sync, try going into the info tab in itunes and uncheck sync email accounts.
Then click apply in the bottom right corner.
Close itunes and disconnect the iphone.

Now open isync in your applications folder.
Open the isync preferences.
Reset sync history.

Once sync history is reset, you can try opening itunes, connect the iphone and try syncing again.
If the error still occurs, you can leave the option to sync accounts to the iphone unchecked since this does not mess with sending or receiving mail on the iphone.

I tried exactly what you said but came up with a different result:

1. I no longer get the error
2. But on the Info tab in iTunes for my iPhone there are no longer any mail accounts showing.

That can't be right?

What should I do?

I have had the same problem as you. I went ahead and cleared iSync history and then found no mail accounts. Here's what I did then:
1. I cheked the sync selected mail accounts button, even though there were no accounts.
2. I then synced the iPhone, and after that, the accounts appeared in the mail accounts area.
3. I checked the ones I wanted, and hit sync.

As far as I can tell, it fixed the problem.

That solved the problem, I noticed I got the error after I had to re-add the accounts on my mail program, for whatever reason the accounts when away.
