What's the loudest docking station/Stereo I can use to hook up an ipod to?

I'm new to the whole docking station thing. I run a children's physical development center with a main room area of abour 800 square feet. I need something that will resonate that room and power it well! Please let me know if there's something I can use. CDs are just getting to be too much of a hassle for me now. Our old stereo receiver is about 700 watts and is beginning to not work as well now.

yes, iPod HiFi truly a great product with good quality sound. I do not like most of the iPod speaker dock systems, their sound quality is far below the audiophile level. But lately I found the following which is great

Anyway, for people having the problem with iPod HiFi, have they tried some 3rd electronic service company yet? Again not for a computer service company but a shop repairing the stereo system.

I have my Nikon F2 camera and needed for a service, bought to its dealer service center - it was also being rejected with the reason - it is an old model and they have no expert to fix it.

You can use any stereo. Get a plug from the iPod headphone jack (3.5mm) to two RCA jacks and plug them into the AUX inputs on the stereo.
Then you can have 4 speakers spread out instead of 2 little ones 6 inches apart.

This really is your cheapest solution and you could try it with realtively little outlay with your existing receiver I would imagine provided the connections are easily accessible.

Don't get sucked in by wattage figures for either amps or speakers alone, as it is neither a guarantee of quality or loudness, though in general for a similarly designed amp the higher the output figures the louder it will go.

The ipod with cable to an amp/receiver and speakers is likely to give you far more bang and loudness for the buck compared to relatively compact docking stations but it's obviously tricky to know how loud you need in your real life situation.

The B&W is impressive however, but has a price tag to match.
I picked one up today and the sound is very good quality and I have no need to play at full volume in a domestic environment, but ultimatley it won't be able to compete in sound scale to separate amp and good dedicated speakers.
As a compact solution it is very nice.
Check out the reviews at the Apple store.
