orange livebox connection problem

has anyone managed to connect their i-phone to their orange livebox? Orange tech support in India is hopeless...and Apple support in the UK is equally useless. I cant believe that these two massive players in the global communications industry cannot deal with a problem like this.

What kinds of problems are you having?

Did you search the Orange Livebox website? Since the iPhone settings are somewhat similar to what a macintosh would use, I found this on their website.

You can probably skip down to the actual settings area where it shows you how to get your WEP key, etc.

thank you very much! As soon as i changed the encryption to WEP it worked straight away....those applebrains kept telling me that the iphone would only work with WPA security and i believed them. I was told by three different people at apple support that the iphone did not 'like' WEP encryption,(one even told me to use the $ symbol before entering the security key on the iphone when trying to pair it to the livebox - wishful thinking on his part!) I am really amazed at the lack of knowledge within the apple support centre - I really hope one of the really good guys at apple support picks this question and checks the various telephone conversations I've had with apple support on this subject....but I think this is wishful thinking on my part!

I read your exchanges with interest ... I too have an iPhone but cannot connect to the internet via my Orange Livebox. However, I have been able to connect elsewhere. My problem is slightly different, in that, the iPhone shows that I have a connection, but when I attempt to go to a web address I get an error like this

POSIX error 12 - cannot allocate memory
NSPOSIXerrorDomain:12

Also when I check my WiFi settings I notice that in the url field it says 'renew lease'

I have tried all of you previous suggestions, pairing etc, but the problem is still the same ... many thanks
