Quick Time Player As Default

Hi

Im Trying To Make QuickTime Player As My Default Media Player. I Just Installed Real Player A Few Days Ago, And It's Playing My QuickTime Files In Real Player.

Ibook G4, Mac OS 8.6 or Earlier, Just Joking 10.5.1

Well following David's instructions you can have RealPlayer as the default player for .rm (RP files) & QT for its own files.
Only RP can play/open .rm files since it's one of their own.

Another thing you can do is double check your browser(s) preferences & QT MIME Settings.

BTW: If RP is slowing everything down, then you have something else going on.
Have you tried running fsck since you are still using Panther? See Knowlege Base Article:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214 Using Disk Utility and fsck to resolve startup issues or perform disk maintenance

If so, suggest that you post the slow down issue over in the forum for your model Mac and/or contact RP tech/customer support.

Well It Just That I Have QuickTime Pro And I Don't Like That I Paid For A Program That I'm Not Using. I Download Real Player Just To Save Some YouTube Videos On My Ipod. Now I'm Thinking About Re-Installing QuickTime Pro To See What That Does.

And It's Weird Because I'm Using Firefox As My Web Browser And Both Safari And Firefox Has The Option To Make Each One The Default Web Browser.
