Super Duper won't backup

Question

Super Duper won't backup

I've been using Super Duper as a backup program. I load the backup boot version to an external HD. Everything is OK until I unplug the external HD from my desktop and connect it to my laptop in order to transfer data. The data in iPhotos, iTunes, address book,Checkbook, etc. does not appear in the boot disk copy. What's happening? Would appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.

Super Duper can’t give me an answer. Could my problem be that the external HD that I have copied to was hooked to a G5 iMac and the computer I’m trying to load the external HD to after disconnecting from the G5 is a G4 laptop? Both are running OS 10.4.11. Very frustrating.

No. That should not have any impact. Is your external drive formatted Mac OS Extended or MS-DOS?

OS Extended. Regular files copy just fine but any application where multiple entries have been made i.e. iPhoto, iTunes, Address Book, etc. None of the entered items will appear. The external HD is a Le Cie 250Gb.

The tech support at Shirt-Pocket is pretty responsive. I find it hard to believe they couldn't help at all. Exactly what did they tell you?
