Cannot Copy/paste to Stickies Widget

Something weird is happening with the stickies widget. I wanted to copy/paste something to a note, but when I try, the note flickers, I loose the cursor, and only a small portion of my clipboard contents are pasted. then, if I click back on the note, I get a smaller cursor at the very top of the note, and typing on the note only puts text on top of the current contents, with the default font and size writing over what was pasted.

Stickies will be pretty useless to me unless I can copy/paste properly. Anyone else experiencing this problem?
