2008 Mini Cooper S Bluetooth

FYI, I just picked up my new 2008 Mini Cooper S with bluetooth prep. Paired the iPhone easily and all my contacts are available in the car cellphone function automatically. Had to verbally enter a voice phonebook one contact at a time, but the Mini voice dialing works nicely with the iPhone.

With the Apple Bluetooth headset, I had problems with bluetooth staying connected if I had the iPhone on my left hip and the headset in my right ear. However, in the Mini the iPhone stays on my belt and it just works. BMW/Mini has a excellently implemented bluetooth handsfree phone function. All calls are really clear, and so far the iPhone automatically connects whenever I get in the car.

BTW, I don't use the iPhone iPod function in the car. I have the Mini iPod USB with Y adapter, but I use that with my old iPod Photo which now stays permanently in the car. Can control the iPod from the radio or steering wheel and all 50+ playlists and 4226 songs are available. I did rename my 20 favorite playlists by placing a number at the beginning to cut down on scrolling.
