What new memory for MBP

Hi all!

i've got 2Gb RAM in my MBP at the moment.
And beore i go out and by new RAM, i have som questions for you.

Does it have to be 5300(667Mhz) or does MBP support higher mhz?
What are the timings on the RAM that MBP is born with?

And, what RAM do you suggest?

Thank you in advance

I would not get higher speed RAM. Higher speed RAM won't do any good (the motherboard will still use 667MHz); it is more expensive; and for all I know it won't even work.

Do get exactly the specs (5300 667MHz SO-DIMM) that Apple calls for.

I'm told that crucial.com makes good RAM. You might get a better deal on it from newegg.com. But I don't know about either's shipping policy to Denmark.

So-called "Apple" RAM is often Samsung.

By reading these forums I understand that one avoid Corsair. I may or may not have had a bad experience with KByte and/or PNY.

Yesterday, I installed the memory upgrade (4gb kit) I purchased from www.crucial.com; it was a a truly painless process. The screws you have to remove are pretty small; I used a screw driver designed for eyeglasses ($1.45 at RiteAid) to remove them. If you want to know which upgrade is for you, go to their website and either select your Mac from the drop down list or choose "Scan My System". Either tool will help you find compatible memory for you computer. They also have terrific pricing; my ugrade was $113.98 for the 4gb "kit".
