Digital Camera doesn't show up in Finder

Hi !

I have a canon digital camera. When I attach it to the iBook iPhoto pops up and offers to import the pictures from the camera, but I prefer doing it manually from the finder. How can I do that ? Mount the camera as "USB Mass Storage" or something like that ?

If you quit iPhoto, the camera's flash memory card should appear as a drive in the Finder. Both of my Canon cameras work this way.

I quit iPhoto and still the camera doesn't seem to show up in finder. What cameras do you have ? I got the SD100

Gad,

An application called Image Capture should be available in your Applications Folder.

Open Image Capture and select Image Capture>Preferences...>Camera: When a camera is connected, open: (Make your choice from the drop down menu)

A70 and A80. It is possible that newer Canon cameras operate differently although I don't know how or why.
