Broken connection between isync and address book?

If I make a new group (no smart group) in the address book, it doesn't appear in the list of groups in isync. So I can't choose this new group to sync with.
Is it possible that the link between the address book and isync is broken or not updated?

imac, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

iSync has somehow 'forgotten' the groups in Address Book - it's not a problem with the Plugin you are using.

Many other people have experienced the same issue with a variety of phones.

First, make a backup of your Address Book and iCal data by using the relevant command on the File menu in each app.

Then try backing up then deleting the SyncServices folder found in ~/Library/Application Support/

Restart the Mac, and re-load iSync. If that doesn't help some of the links below may do:

I am also having the sync problem between my iMac and my Sony Clie. I thought it was working fine -- certainly updated calendars. However, yesterday I updated many addresses in the address book, deleting quite a few. When I tried to sync, I got the information that over 5% of the addresses had changed. Good! But I did not see a way to accept or reject that. The net result was that nothing got changed on the handheld. Now, I get the following message in the Palm (4.2.1) log:

Loading “Apple”
Conduit “iSync Conduit” version 3.0.0
Sync type is Fast
iSync Conduit starting 3/4/08 9:41:35 AM
Timeout waiting for Sync Engine, exiting 3/4/08 9:47:39 AM
iSync Conduit synchronization failed
“iSync Conduit” failed (error = #-2)

Nothing gets synced now. I tried the "move isync to the desktop and back" solution to no avail. I reinstalled the Palm software. I have not reapplied the combo updater.

If I go the Missing sync route, can I still use the Palm synch to auto update Epocrates, which Missing Synch does not directly support? I would envision using Missing Synch to do address book, ical, etc, and then Palm to update epocrates. Or would this get the system confused?

Comment and/or advice?

when i try to sync iphone - a message states that isync is disabled and asks if i want to enable it - after saying yes - i get a message 'syncing cannot be enabled on this computer'
it does sync the audio and video - but not contacts, calendar or mail.
when i open isync - it will not respond and the apple icon even is not accessible

what can i do?
all updates are done - macbook pro, 10.4.11, itunes = 7.6.1

I am having exactly the same problem with my Sony Ericsson K750i.
Very Frustrating! I've just spent 1.5 hours trying to fix it without any luck.
Not only does iSync not recognise new groups I make, it also refuses to sync new contacts I make either on my phone or on my computer.

I suggest everyone experiencing the same thing sends apple feedback at:

I have had similar sync problems in the past and haven't been able to get a solution from Apple. Try the following. It fixed the iSync problem, but left .mac sync not able to be used. I haven't tried since a couple of updates for Leopard have come through, so if anyone has tried now and found the updates fixed the problem let me know.
