TransFlash cards and Mac OSX

I recently got a new cell phone (Motorola E815) and along with it I purchased a memory card for it (TransFlash). The memory card for the phone is the new super tiny ones, smaller than a fingernail. The card comes with a converter that converts it to an SD card so you can use it with an SD card reader.

One of the reasons I did this was to bring the photos into my Mac from the phone (1.3 megapixel), you see I always have my phone but I rarely carry may camera. Problem is the Mac cannot recognize the jpg files and the card frequently locks up the card reader (spinning beach ball of death) and won't unlock until I remove the card reader (removing the card alone leaves it locked up).

So in reality I have 2 problems, the card is not write compatible and nothing on the Mac can read these jpg files. Now I am a graphic artist and have dozens of programs that can load most any file format on the planet but they all tell me these jpeg files are corrupt, Photoshop says that some jpeg markers and missing or corrupt).

Oh missed mentioning that the card reader will NOT lock up if I set the SD converter to write protected mode (little switch). I also cannot transfer much to the card, I tried MP3 files and I may get one or two but it always ends up locking up eventually.

I am not sure if OS X is to blame for not playing nice with the card or what. And I am not sure why nothing recognizes and reads the jpeg files.

I have the newest incarnation of Tiger, 1 gig RAM, Simpletech All in One USB card reader & the TransFlash is a 128mb SanDisk.

Any Ideas??
