Apple Mobile Device Not Running

Any suggestions? I just bought my ipod touch yesterday and upgraded my itunes to the newest version but it still won't sync. I've gone through the help pages on here, clicked through the control panel to services and the Apple Mobile Device isn't even there to restart. For some reason it isn't downloading properly with itunes... HELP I'm desperate to start playing with mt new gadget!

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.

Try removing iTunes and AMDS entirely. When you install iTunes 7.6.1 again temporalily disable any security software (firewalls/anti-virus etc) whilst you re-install.

Thanks for the suggestion, have given it a try and still no joy 😟
Any other ideas? When I'm installing it gets to a certain point and rolls back one of the actions... I'm guessing this is where it's trying to install the AMDS.
