so my mom got a mac and a few weeks later she decided she didn't want it so she gave it to me. the problem now is that everything is set up in her name. the biggest thing is that whenever i go to the finder it says her name and i can't figure out for the life of me how to change that. any suggestions?? thanks!

Change the Computer Name in the Sharing preferences of System Preferences. You cannot directly change the user account name although you can change the password. Open Accounts preferences while you are logged into the admin account and click on Change Password button. There you can change the password. To change the account's Full Name simply enter the new name in the Name field. To change the Home folder's shortname click on the lock icon and authenticate. Select the account in the list then CTRL-click or right-click and select Advanced from the contextual menu. Enter the new name for the Home folder in the field labeled "Short name."

If you get the Mac to run Setup Assistant you can then personalize the machine. Follow this:
