Hi everyone,

I've read other posts about upgrading from 8GB to 16GB, but it appears that you have to get a new iPhone to do that, is that right? There's not a way to just upgrade my existing unit from 8 to 16?

Thanks in advance,

Larry

    Hi Larry,

I'm afraid that there isn't a way to upgrade your existing iPhone to 16 GB, so yes, you have to buy a new one.

    Cheers.

Thanks. By the way, is there anything I can do to free up more space on my phone for songs? For instance, if I have tons of contacts in my contacts list, is that taking up space that could be used for songs?

I'm not sure how much space is taken up by contacts, but my guess is that songs/videos would use much more of your memory, so decreasing contacts might not give you that much extra space. If you have a backup of your contacts, you could try removing them on the next sync, to see how much space they are taking up.
