I'm trying to create some documents and am in need of adding some curved text (similar to WordArt) in Pages. Is there some key combination that will allow me to modify (click/drag) the Text Box containing my text to create a curve. I found the rotate commands but nothing for my current need. I have previously done this by using Word, creating the necessary text in WordArt and then copying it to my Pages document. This works but is archaic, believing that Pages should be robust enough to perform this function as well, given it's claim to being a Word Processing/Page Layout product. This process doesn't allow me much flexibility in modifying the text or the curvature after the fact. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...
I'm not sure where in the phrases "word processor" and "page layout" is an implication that Pages will create curved text. You'd need an app with more robust drawing or illustration capabilities than Pages provides.

My implication lies in my previous use of such applications as MS Word (a word processor that can perform my required function), MS Publisher, MS PowerPoint and DTP applications such as Adobe PageMaker ("which is the ideal page layout program for (those) who want to create high-quality publications such as brochures and newsletters") that can also create my desired "curved text". Given that Pages also does publications such as brochures and newsletters and mentions in its opening screen (at least when choosing a template) that it offers templates for Word Processing and Page Layout, inferring that it should be able to perform these functions to a certain adequacy. I know that this is all semantics and that in fact Pages may or may not be able to do this, but with everything else that it does well, it's a small item that would be nice to see.
I understand now that a more robust or different application will be needed to perform my task, but it would be nice if the folks at Apple could include this in a future release.
You seemed perturbed at my question, I apologize for my ignorance of the full functionality and limitations of Pages. I know that many other products can perform this task and I guess I shouldn't expect low-end (those costing <$100) Apple products to be the end-all to my needs. As I mentioned in my initial question, I have a work-around but I certainly thank you for your input and for confirming what I probably already knew would be the result... Thanks again.
I'm not at all perturbed by your belief that Pages ought to do something it doesn't. I read a couple of dozen comments like yours every day. We all have our different expectations of things.
Again, thanks for the input. I'll get along using work-arounds until they (Apple) add this feature some day. I really don't want to go back to my PC much these days (been an iMac user for about a year now). I'm really enjoying the capabilities of my iMac and Leopard...
