1.1.4 - Apple Recovery (iBoot) USB driver

Just downloaded and installed 1.1.4 firmware, i noticed that there is Apple Recovery (iBoot) USB driver icon shown in notification area of Window Vista.

What's function of Apple Recovery (iBoot)?

Well, since it only pops up when the iPod touch has new firmware installed or the unit is restored, my guess would be that it forces the unit to boot from an external OS/kernel/etc so the new firmware/OS can be applied over the old one. Maybe the iPod touch's version of OS X needs to be not running in order to replace it or update it. You'll notice that anytime its restored, it reboots itself before anything happens...

Just my guess, though.

Apple Recovery (iBoot) USB driver shows up near the task bar to indicate the driver that the device plugged in is using. This usually indicates that the driver was not installed properly for the iPhone or iPod Touch. The driver name that is correct it Apple Mobile Device support. I've only seen the iBoot driver when firewall, UAC, or anti-virus poked its head in when installing itunes and the driver.
