Iphone/Ringtone problem

I just purchased 3 ringtones from Itunes. Clocks, Shipping to Boston, Calling Elvis. Ringtones are showing in Itunes just fine. Plugged in Iphone to sync. Manually manage music is checked. I clicked and dragged the 3 ringtones to the iphone. They now show up on the left side under the iphone. I have synced the phone and 3 ringtones are showing up on the phone but they are all the same, Shipping to Boston!

I have tried to click or unclick "Sync Ringtones" at the top. That didn't work.
I have deleted all the ringtones and tried again. That didn't work.

Nothing seems to help. Three ringtones show up, they are just all the same song!

I have the 16G Iphone but my library is almost 80G so I don't want to automatically sync music. I like to manually manage the music. Click and drag should work, shouldn't it? It does for music, videos, podcasts, and TV shows.

What should I now do?

There have been numerous reports of this. Sorry to say I have not paid attention to the threads to know the answer.

Can say if you search you may find the threads here (I know the search isn't all that perfect..IMHO).

Also, I recall seeing this issue talked about most when 1.1.3 came out. Any chance have you updated to 1.1.4 from yesterdays release? It may fix the problem if it was somthing they fixed.

i'm having a very similar problem, though my ringtones are all ones i've made in garageband.
when syncing, i'm getting omissions and duplications even though when i check my phones ringtones using the itunes interface, it says there are all there and working (i can even play them through itunes)
but when i disconnect my phone, it will be missing 4 or 5 ringtones and of the remaining tones, several with have 4 to 5 duplicates of the same ringtone.

frustrating that apple can't seem to get the iphone software out of beta....
