Quicktime rtsp streams behind firewalls

Hi,

I wanted to find out what is the best way to deliver Quicktime streams behind firewalls.

The Quicktime rtsp streams (port 554) are blocked behind corporate firewalls.

Does the suggested alternate method of using port 80 deliver streaming performance as good as port 554?

Are there any other issues to be aware of while using port 80 for streaming?

Regards

The following is from the QTSS Admin guide -

To setup http, port 80 streaming, is this the only step on the server-side or does anything else need to be configured?

Would the resulting stream be of the form http:// or rtsp://

I assume on the client-side, the default settings of the Quicktime 7.4.1 player can be used and the viewer does not need to set anything.

----------------
To serve QuickTime streams over HTTP port 80:
1 In Server Admin, click QuickTime Streaming under the server in the Servers list.
2 Click Settings.
3 Click IP Bindings.
4 Select “Enable streaming on port 80.”
