Print legal document on letter size paper

Is there a simple way - or any way - to print a legal sized document/page and have it fit on letter size paper when printed?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

I was using Preview on a pdf document when I asked this question. I tried scaling in Preview and couldn't make it work. But if I open a pdf in Adobe, I can print legal on letter as well as legal on legal. It's apparently an application issue with Preview. So I'll just use Adobe when I need to print a legal size document.

You could also use the Paper Handling PDE in the Print Dialog.
