Can I install an old version of FileMaker Pro

I need to open some very old files that are Filemaker 3.0. Is it possible to install this old a version on my Powerbook (OSX)? I tried a quick install and got an "access denied" message.

Would appreciate any help...thanks all.

And the switch from 6 to 7 killed off some formulas and items used in formulas. They were as a web term is called deprecated. if you can find a version Filemaker 5.5 you should be able to convert you databases
