Can I install an old version of FileMaker Pro

Question

Can I install an old version of FileMaker Pro

I need to open some very old files that are Filemaker 3.0. Is it possible to install this old a version on my Powerbook (OSX)? I tried a quick install and got an "access denied" message.

Would appreciate any help...thanks all.

That version of FileMaker Pro probably won't run on OSX. You don't give much info about your powerbook or what version OSX you are running. Most times it helps to give as much info as possible so people who are replying to your query aren't blue skying.

The lowest version of Filmaker that will work on OSX version 5.5. And it will read previous versions. however; once the change to version 6 its only backwards compaible with on version previous. And the switch from 6 to 7 killed off some formulas and items used in formulas. They were as a web term is called deprecated. if you can find a version Filemaker 5.5 you should be able to convert you databases
