iPhone corded headset with boom mic? "Avoid spagehetti"?

Hi folks. I don't much care for the ear buds with mic that comes with iPhone. Does anyone know of a CHEAP corded headset with the boom mic that is next to your mouth (or near it)? I don't want a bluetooth thing.

Will the one that worked with my (very) old cell phone (assuming I can find an adapter) work with iPhone? This old headset has no buttons of any kind... just an earpiece and a boom mic near my mouth... a cord and a plug. Will it work?

Another issue. Assuming I still use the earbuds does anyone have a 'trick" for keeping the ear buds from getting tangled up all the time when not in use and not plugged in? The iPod buds had a "slider" that helped but the iPhone always becomes spaghetti.
