Installing 7.6.1 on a PowerBook 3400

I am the happy owner of a PowerBook 3400. All is OK, I need advice, if any around ⚠ for two things:
- How can I install 7.6.1, incidentally 7.6.1 Romanian, it does not work with this model, but works with Performa 5200. This was the generic 7.6.1 Romanian (the only MAC OS in Romanian), which accompanied some newer Performas sold in 1997 or so. Of course, MAC OS 8, 8.1, 8.5 and 9.1 work OK. I have the feeling this model bahaves best with MAC OS 8.x,but would like 7.6.1 RO, as described.
- Is there a compatible wireless PCMCIA card?

Cattus,

Welcome to the Discussions.

The Powerbook 3400 requires a special OS 7.6.x due to its release date; a standard, retail MacOS 7.6 CD will not work. The only difference between the two OSes is the 'Powerbook 3400 Enabler' file which is not available as a separate download. I cannot help with the question of language.

You can go wireless and here is a helpful guide:

Hello,

Already sent e-mail.
Thanks for the wl solution, I think Macwireless offers a reasonable solution, the only detail is, they hopefully send stuff to Romania as well. I shall try to find something here around, if not, order via net.
The little guy is really OK, just one more question: how large can the internal disk be? If I put there a – say – 30 GB disk, is it OK? Does it detect 30 GB? Or even more?
