purchased iPhone From ATT, Warranty question

i Purchased my iPhone from an authorized AT&T retail store Because it was basically impossible to find one in any of the apple stores in my area. i was wondering if i still have the one year warranty plan from apple that covers the phone and if i will be able to extend it when the year is done for? and if i happen to have to return it or get it fixed can i take it to an apple store with the att receipt?

Thanks

You're welcome.

An Apple representative where - on the phone or at an Apple Store?

And you would need to do what thru at&t? Activating an iPhone must be done with iTunes thru at&t - this part is correct.

An iPhone purchased in the U.S. at an Apple Store, the Apple online store (free shipping), an at&t store or at&t's online store that is activated with at&t is covered under the warranty.

Apple handles all repairs and exchanges under warranty regardless where the iPhone was purchased.

I purchased my iPhone at an at&t store where I live on 6/29. Within the first two weeks I experienced a problem with the earpiece. I called AppleCare and my iPhone was picked up and returned for inspection and testing for repair or exchange. My iPhone was exchanged.

Your iPhone is covered under Apple's warranty. If you have an issue that is covered under the warranty, you can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple Store. at&t does not handle any iPhone repairs or exchanges under warranty.

If you decided to return your iPhone for credit - which must be done within 14 days after the purchase date, you must return it to the at&t store where you purchased it.

FIRST: Buying from an AT&T store is the first mistake, I will NEVER buy at an AT&T store again. Poor customer service, lies, failed to acknowledge lack of coverage in my area. What is APPLE thinking making these guys the exclusive cellular vendor?

To address your concerns: *Yes, you can take it back to an APPLE store*. I returned mine on day 17, Apple gave me a new one. Still no cell service in my area. Best the AT&T store could offer: sell it on ebay, they (AT&T) refused to take it back, saying is is a steadfast Apple policy not to return a phone after 14 days. Apple store manager just shook his head in digust when I conveyed that to him, and said they should have taken it back with a 10% restocking fee.
Will be returning my iphone AGAIN and exchanging it for a touch ipod. All the features except cellular, and I save $59.00 + for AT&T service.

PS - Virginia Beach residents: AVOID THE HILLTOP STORE - THEY ARE LIARS!
NO SERVICE inside buildings, or just about anywhere on Shore Drive
