Photoshop CS2 and OSX version 10.4.11

All of a sudden, every time I try to open Photoshop CS2 it crashes. I reinstalled CS2 and the problem continues. I am running OS 10.4.11. Any suggestions?

PowerBook G4, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Have you applied the adobe update to Photoshop Cs 2,so that your application version is 9.2 ?

I think the top upgrade for CS2 is 9.0.2 - But be that as it may. Photoshop had become wildly unstable since an upgrade from 10.3.9. to 10.4 to 10.4.11... in fact WORSE under 10.4.11! And as a designer, THIS HURTS! One re-install of PS and uninstall of Version Que do not seem to have solved the problem.

ANYONE manage to fix this...

Apple: Upgrade to Leopard
Adobe: Upgrade to CS3

That'll work when I have $5000 laying about to run them on...

Oops yes sorry ! your correct its 9.0.2

I have currently have CS2 9.0.2 running on 10.4.11 and it runs fine(as an off-line photo-studio Mac) CS2 is installed on a 160G HD for the applications only and there is a second 160G HD allocated as a photoshop scratch disc cache level 7. I have allocated approx 1400 GB of Ram allocated for photoshop.

Is it possible that you may require more RAM or Free HD (Scratch disc) space to run CS 2 with 10.4.11 ? Perhaps a kind person with alot of Mac expertise out there will know !

Wish you good luck with it

This past Friday all of a sudden my Photoshop CS2 would become "not responding" any time I would try to open a file. Any file. Rebooted twice, standard check of permissions and such...no other programs are acting up. PLEASE!! SOMEBODY HELP!!!
OS 10.4.11, nothing new installed or anything else that happened since I was using it the day before with no issues. CS2 v9.0.2 also....

Hokay....

Having same or similar problems. After most of the usual fixes proved to no avail, What I was faced with was doing an "Archive and Install" back DOWN to a pretty basic installation of Mac OS 10.4.0. This peeled off most of the third party drivers and system add ons from Panther. Then adding up-to-date versions of ONLY the things I needed, scanner from epson, Printer from Canon, Wacom tablet, all new drivers for 10.4. DUMPED nortons utilities, dead in 10.4 anyway...

AND then re-installing a fresh version of PS CS3. Now behaving together.

Then one piece at a time.... brought back the OS updates...

So far, so good.

May not be YOUR answer. But working for me at the moment.
