Terminal/bash output: "cannot execute binary file"

Hi everyone,

While attempting to execute an Installer file, the bash terminal opens and the last line reads:
-bash: <SomeDir>/Installer: cannot execute binary file

Did a couple of further attempts using 'sudo' but didn't go very far either.

There must be some basic linux/unix I must be missing.

Any help/hint most appreciated - many thanks in advance
