Safari & Google Maps

Safari (1.3.2) has recently started failing while opening web sites containing Google Maps. The web sites were working (with Google Maps prior to about two weeks ago). Does any body have a suggestion or answer to this recent problem? I'd be most appreciative ...

Hi Jim,

From what we've seen in the Safari forum in the last couple of weeks, there might be a genuine incompatibility with Google Maps and Safari 1.3.2. In these cases, Safari crashes with the JavaScriptCore heavily implicated in the crashlog backtrace. Perhaps Google recently updated their coding. For now, try using an alternative browser, e.g. FireFox or Camino, and see how you get along.

A couple of people with similar problems solved them in the thread Google Maps never seems to work... Both found the problem was being caused by firewalls, one via firewall software settings, the other via their wireless router's firewall settings. Check towards the end of that thread for the solutions they came up with. Perhaps your problems have a similar cause.
