Q: PowerBook 1400cs password question
Hey folks!
I was recently given a PowerBook 1400cs/133, which had been previously used rather heavily but a few years ago fell into disuse. I've been rejuvenating it...I've gotten a new battery for it, updated it from 8.0 to 8.1, and cleaned up the hard drive.
This question pertains to the "Password Security" control panel. Yes, I've seen the previous thread about not being able to boot up due to a password being set. I don't know the password on what's newly my machine, but obviously I can boot into and use it without complication (and I do mean that no prompt appears at boot up which I have to hit cancel for). I can't update the hard disk drivers, which is telling.
Given that I can boot into OS 8.1, is there some way of recovering or changing said password? I'd ordinarily take it to an Apple Store, but I'm in college and there isn't one close by to begin with.
Thanks for any help you feel like offering!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.11), also use a PowerBook 1400cs/133 running 8.1
