Adjust Color Temperature on ACD in Windows

Hi,

I have 2 apple cinema displays, they run different versions of firmware and one appears "warmer" than the other. I realise when running these screens with a mac that you can adjust color, of course with WinACD you can't adjust anything apart from brightness. Obviously as I run these in multiple screen setup it looks a little odd. Are the color settings stored in the monitor itself, therefore if I connect the screen to a mac and then change the settings it'll be fine? Can I reset the settings for the monitor?

Please help 🙂

The color information is stored in "Display Properties" > Settings > Advanced > Color Management.

To generate a monitor profile, you need a monitor calibration tool like the iONE or Spyder. If you want to two display to look identical and color matching is a main part of your work flow, you should really invest in one of these calibration tools.

It's recommended that you turn off these fancy controls on the consumer-level displays when using with the calibration tool. Let the color profile do everything. This maybe why Apple have never included these controls with ACD.

Thank you for the reply. So the settings are stored in the pc and not in the screens themselves? I was wondering since apple didn't include the ability to change settings on the screens themselves that it was all done on the pc. That way one of my screens could be set at a "warmer" temperature than the other. I will get one of the calibration tools like you say, I think the Pantone Huey is pretty widely available in Australia.
