Can't Log Out

Can't Log Out

I keep getting an error message when I try to log out that says: "Logout timed out because Finder failed to quit...quit Finder and then log out." But I can not quit Finder and the Force Quit does not seem to work...please help...thanks

My problem ended up being that certain start up items (1 related to itunes and 1 related to Airport Extreme) were running in the background and not closing properly, which caused Finder to freeze. After deleting the start up items, the problem was fixed.
