I have not tried yet myself, but as a hardware issue - it should work for iTouch, bear in mind, both iPod and iTouch works on my iPod HiFi (via dock). Unless the software is not compatible .... e.g. iTouch is not working on my car stereo via dock.

I do not suggest you to connect it with a 30 pin -> RCA cable, (which cant do it with a good quality cable). If I were you ..

I will spare my money on a good dock system instead - and using my existing interconnect audio cable between the dock to the HiFi System

For Audiophile - the answer is no .. not at the moment

You might try the Apple Composite A/V cable, as it connects to the 30 pin connection and comes out with left/right audio. While you don't need the video portion of it, it will be a good quality cable.

I am in the AirForce based in Korea, and have come across an iPod HiFi system in our Base Exchange (like a wal-mart but smaller), i did a little browsing and had no idea apple discontinued this item, i have an iPod touch and before i drop $200 on the HiFi, i would just like to know if anyone knows if it works with it, and how well, any help in the matter would be greatly appriciated, thanks in advance SrA "P"

The Touch works fine with it, the HiFi puts out a lot of sound and can be used with batteries. Be aware though that service on it will be nigh on impossible to get and make sure you are getting the full warranty when you buy it.

I've had mine about 2 years and have had no problems with it.

I agree with Lauren, as I just connected my iPod touch to my Onkyo SR805 AVR with the Component Cables from Apple and was very pleased with the quality of the sound (and Video). I believe the Composite would also work well (both equal with the Audio).
