problem hooking up to Sharp LCD

Newbie here ,
Just bought a Sharp AQUOS 100Hz 32' LCD TV for my Mac' mini, hooking them together with VGA cable. After turning on my Mac', the Mac' logo appears but few seconds later it went off and shows "not compatible with his signal".
I`ve tried all ways & set different resolution for my Mac' but still won`t help.
Really Frustrating...
Had callup Apple hotline but they cant help, callup Sharp and they said Mac' is not compatible with Sharp LCDs due to Mac's resolution...
Really upsad here...
Can any Expert help ?
