It would drain the battery no faster then when email checks every 15 min. But if you get allot of emails in a day 20 + for example then yes eventually you would see a decrease in battery as it has to push that email to you each time it hits your Yahoo Box, Thus activating and using EDGE and or WiFi.

I personally do not see much of a Batter Decrease with my Push on, At end of the day I still have close to 97% of my Battery, Of course this will vary from user to user depending on how they use their iPhone

Thats what I thought but I just got my phone a couple days ago and today for example I sent and received a total of maybe 75 text messages, made two phone calls no more than 15 minutes each and used the internet over EDGE for about 2 hours, push email was on and I got maybe 6 messages all day. I unplugged my phone at 8am and by 4:30pm I had between 50-60% battery life. Is that normal?

Again battery life varies depending on your use.

I would say the 2 Hours of Internet via EDGE used up a nice % of battery, As EDGE sometimes takes a bit longer to load a page thus uses a tad more battery and processor speed to make this request happen, And as your browsing the Processor and Internet is moving along thus using Battery, Vs if your Idle it wont use as much sitting there doing nothing.

SMS messages I do not think would drain it much as it only gets them when they are sent, Your email flow seems decent nothing to major there.

Try not using any EDGE for the day but use the iPhone like your normally do just no EDGE activity accept email and SMS and see if your still at 50% to 60% battery life. Also check out the link I posted above for some tips on getting the best out of the battery. 🙂
