I noticed that my mac book was running slower than normal. I had recently downloaded alot of HD video off my video camera so I had thought that was the reason. I installed a new 250 gb hard drive and upgraded to 2 gb of ram and it did not improve at all. It takes a while to load a page using safari, sometimes it freezes and I need to restart. My imac that is connecting to the same network runs super fast so it's not the connection.
Any Idea's?
It's a preference file. With Safari closed drag the plist file to the trash and restart Safari. That should help a ton. It isn't going to hurt anything
Ok...assuming that your user name is DePuma the com.apple.safari.plist file will be in Users/DePuma/Library/Preferences. Make sure you're viewing that folder by name.
hi; i dont want to butt in, BUT, does firefox have one of these? i've found what i would think it is, but its only 4KB. this sounds like a problem i'm having too but i dont use safari.
Outstanding! I only trash a preference file if I'm having problems, it's not something that you should have to do for normal maintenance. You might consider looking at a utility like Onyx to help keep the various chache and log files clean. There are others too, I use Onyx, check it out here:
