what happens if you plug your ipod touch into 2 diff. computers

i am about to get a macbook but i also have a windows desktop. im wondering if plugging your ipod touch into a windows computer and then plugging it into a mac would destroy it. i have a few friends that did this with their ipods (not ipod touch) and it completely screwed it up and they had to get a new ipod.

I do not believe it would ruin ur ipod, but I think it might erase the songs...

I do this all the time to charge my iPod when I'm not near my base computer. Just be sure to set the iPod for manual sync. Oddly, the foreign computer senses the iPod as a camera and launches iPhoto instead of iTunes. No harm done though.

Here are the keystrokes to prevent auto syncing (extracted from the iPod touch Feature Guide):

As you connect iPod touch to your computer, press and hold Command-Option (if you’re using a Mac) or Shift-Control (if you’re using a PC) until you see iPod touch in the iTunes source list on the left. This prevents iPod touch from syncing automatically.

I have an ipod touch and often plug ny ipod into a macbook at my mates and ive never had any problems i have a windows xp computer so really you shouldnt have any problems

Mine is seen in both, I have a Mac, and when I connect to a PC it sees it but warns if it syncs to the PC then my sync from my Mac will be lost.
