MacBook creaking/cracking noise on right palm rest

Hello All,

Thanks in advance for your replies. I purchased a MacBook 4 months ago. Suddenly whenever I place my hand (or push down) on the right palm rest, this weird cracking/sticking kind of noise happens. I brought it into an Apple retailer where I purchased it and they said there was nothing they could really do. Going to an Apple store is kind of out of the way for me. Have you seen/heard of this? Any help would really be appreciated as typing is getting to be an annoyance since I hear the annoying noise all the time.

Thank You,
Josh

Below the right palm rest is where the hard drive sits, so it sounds to me that the clicking sound is coming from your hard drive. I would advice you to backup your hard drive ASAP to prevent data loses.

If you do not want to go to an Apple store, then you should give them a ring, as I remember the hard drive is covered with your 1 year apple care plan.
