Time Capsule does not work over a network?!?

Switching over from Windows I have a brand spankin new Macbook pro and Time Capsule.

My setup is:

cable modem - > linksys router -> time capsule

Wireless is working fine and the TC light is green.

However although Time Machine sees it as a choice to use as a backup disk, when I select it the choice does not "stick"and I'm unable use it!

Please tell me there's a way around this, somebody please!

PHEW - found the anser:

You can't accept the default naming of your time capsule as the utility put spaces and ' characters in it whic prevent it from being selected (?!).

The fix it to rename the Disk. Then all is well. To rename the disk:

AirPort Utility -> Manual Setup -> Disks. Click on the disk name under Time Capsule Disk. You'll now see the disk details and you can change the name.

BigPa, why are you using a router between your cable modem and Time Capsule??? Time Capsule is an Airport Extreme Base Station itself! You can run the Ethernet cable directly from your cable modem to the Time Capsule. Any reason you are putting the router in the middle?
