Retrace a IP address from a email received in mail.

Hello! I need to find out someone's IP address so I can know their location ( well, the city where they live in really ), because i've had a stalking problem not that long ago, and I think this is the same person. I know that the stalker was from London, and I wish to see if this new person is too from London. If I could compare their IP addresses, it could be pretty helpful. Is there any way to retrace a IP address from a received email in mail? Thanks!

Jimmy.

Jimmy, you might get a better response on a networking discussion - it is not a mail issue. Anyway, you could try one of the geographical lookup sites such as GeoBytes, but I find them very inaccurate - they put our IP addresses in various parts of the US or Spain rather than in Ireland. If you think it might be a European address you will probably get best results by doing a "Whois" lookup on the RIPE page. RIPE controls the allocation of IP address space in Europe.
