Iphone shows up as camera instead of phone

I cannot activate my new iphone. It shows up as a camera instead of a phone. I have uninstalled and installed itunes, apple mobile device, etc. I have turned off McAfee and windows security etc. still no phone on itunes. Help

Strange that your iPhone shows up as or is detected as a camera when it doesn't contain any photos captured by the iPhone.

I did not have usbaapl.sys under universal serial bus. But I do have apple mobile device under services.msc. What do I need to do to get USBAAPL.sys

Per the link provided, this driver should be installed with the iTunes installation for Windows.

question are you using iTunes

Windows will see your iPhone as a camera, but you must have itunes open and activate your iPhone through iTunes... Please follow the below tutorial for activating your new iPhone
