Transfer Files from iTunes to Apple TV

What good is the Apple TV's gigabytes of space if I can't transfer my iTunes library from my laptop over to my Apple TV? Can anyone tell me if this is possible and how it's done!?! That way I can listen to or watch music/videos without having to stream them via my WiFi connection. It would also allow me to hook up the Apple TV to other TV sets when traveling.

Thanks,
Chris

You can. Maybe you just did not set something up right.

Under settings then computers you should see your computer listed with a chainlink type icon next to it. That means that is the computer it will sync with (copy content from or to). Under that computer will list other computers on your network you have (for lack of better term) paired with. Those computers you can stream with. You can only setup to sync with 1 computer, rest have to stream only. You can though change which computer you sync with anytime (though it will cause it to remove all contect from AppleTV before syncing with other computer.

So once you do have synced content, you can easily travel with it if you wish.
